With the installation of approximately 4,300
square feet of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) material,
observing the construction of Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, the new
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay classroom building, will be
a rare and enlightening educational experience for anyone interested
in renewable energy. This photo gallery hopes to capture the
steps involved with the installation of these photovoltaic products,
namely the Standing Seam Metal Roofing and Vision Glass. Devices
that function behind-the-scenes will also be featured.

Standing
Seam Metal Roofing
One hundred 128-watt laminated
modules were installed on the south-facing wing of the new
classroom building in January 2001. Seven-photo slide show
(at left) depicts the arrival of the panel shipment. More
detailed photos of the roof installation
process are also available. |

Vision
Glass
Two hundred and fifty-two 43-watt,
thin-film photovoltaic modules were installed in a glass
curtain wall in the Wintergarden of Mary Ann Cofrin Hall.
This occurred in March 2001. Two-photo slide show (at left)
shows the finished vision glass array and artist's rendering
of the Wintergarden. Detailed photos of the installation
process are also available. |

Power
Conversion System
In January 2001, two Trace
Technologies inverters were installed to achieve the
DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current) power conversion
required for the photovoltaic modules. Twelve-photo slide
show (at left) captures the arrival of the system shipment.
